Help key voices join the Summit conversation!

Dear Jaroslaw,

SeaWeb is now accepting applications for scholarships to the upcoming SeaWeb Seafood Summit  being held 5–7 June 2017 in Seattle, Washington USA.

The SeaWeb Scholars Program provides financial support to seafood sustainability leaders from underrepresented sectors and areas around the world, so they can contribute their unique perspectives to the dialogue at the Seafood Summit and bring lessons learned back to their home communities.

Funds are limited and will be used to increase representation of targeted demographics including, but not limited to:

  • Community & labor organizations or fishing organization representatives
  • Representatives of organizations or institutions working on social issues related to seafood
  • Asia and Latin America – both aquaculture and wildcaught fisheries
  • Representatives of key stakeholders groups in the Pacific Northwest

Do you know a seafood leader who fits one of these categories? If so, please send them to our guidelines page, which has complete information on requirements and a link to an online application.

By helping get the right voices to the Summit, you will be making an important contribution to seafood sustainability. But I hope you will act quickly so that applicants who are not selected can still register for the Summit at Early Bird pricing, which ends February 15.

Empowering new leadership is critical at this pivotal time in the seafood sustainability movement. Please also consider supporting this important program by becoming a Sponsor of the Scholars program. To learn more, please see our Summit Scholars PDF or contact me at the address below.

Sincerely,
Marida Hines
Summit Scholars Program Manager
