After the scoping exercise came to an end, EU has now to take the important decision on the next step, namely when and under which conditions we shall begin our trade negotiations with Japan The main purpose of the workshop is to offer a possibility for a free exchange of views between MEPs and stakeholders on this issue.
We propose therefore to meet on Tuesday, 10 July (15:00-17:00) in the EP premises (room JAN 6Q1). The meeting will take place without interpretation.

“Today, we are putting an end to the era of external monopolies in the EU gas market which, for years, has exposed consumers to paying much higher energy bills and has been used to turn off gas taps in the middle of winter. This is excellent news for our citizens, industry and our overall security in the EU”, said Jerzy Buzek MEP, EPP Group Spokesman, after the deal on common rules for the internal market in natural gas was adopted by the European Parliament.
To follow up the UK’s EU membership referendum, Parliament's Conference of Presidents (EP President and political group leaders) decided on Friday morning, to convene an extraordinary plenary session for 28 June at 10:00. During this session, MEPs will vote a resolution analysing the outcome and ways forward. EU Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker and Council representatives will take part.
