China. MEPs will first assess the state of the EU-China relations in a Monday debate on a draft opinion for the AFET committee and hear from Zhang Ming, Chinese Ambassador to the EU. The next day they hold a public hearing with foreign affairs MEPs on possible European strategies.

US trade restrictions. The temporary exemption for the EU from import tariffs on steel and aluminium expires on May 1. One week before the deadline, MEPs will debate the ongoing talks for a permanent exemption with the EU Commission. Monday, 16.00

Further macro-financial help to Ukraine.Members will discuss a proposal offering EUR 1 billion as a loan to help Ukraine meet its external financing needs in 2018 and 2019. Ukraine's Minister of Finance Mr Oleksandr Danyliuk and Commissioner Pierre Moscovici will participate in the debate.
