A year ahead of the next European elections, Members of the EPP Group in the European Parliament will gather in Munich, Germany, from 6 to 8 June 2018 for the Group’s Study Days.

The aim of the meeting is to take stock of the EPP Group’s work over the past four years in the European Parliament and to set the priorities for the last year of the mandate.

During this 3-day event, EPP Group Members will have the pleasure to welcome, among others, German Chancellor Angela Merkel, Austrian Chancellor Sebastian Kurz, Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenković, the European Commissioner for Budget Günther Oettinger, Nea Dimokratia leader Kyriakos Mitsotakis, and the CEOs of BMW and Siemens.

Their exchanges of view will focus on the European way of life, the EPP Group’s successes, and on its priorities for the next Parliament.

“The year running up to the European elections is crucial for the further development of the Union. The EPP Group has clear ideas on what we want to achieve next year and beyond: we want an ambitious Europe. The Study Days will be an occasion for fruitful discussions between members of our political family. I am particularly happy to welcome my colleagues and our prominent speakers to my home region Bavaria”, said Manfred Weber MEP, the EPP Group Chairman.

“The challenges ahead call for European solutions. The EPP Group is the constant driving force for a solid and strong Union. The Study Days mark an important step in our efforts to continue providing concrete answers”, Daniel Caspary MEP, Head of the German Delegation (CDU) of the EPP Group, added.

“We need a strong Europe as well as strong regions. Bavaria as a region has, so far, met the challenges which Europe is facing such as globalisation, digitalisation and an ageing population, whilst at the same time we have upheld our traditions and values. It is therefore the ideal place to talk about the future of Europe", said Angelika Niebler, co-Head of the German Delegation (CSU) of the EPP Group.

The conference and discussions themselves are not open to the press. However, individual speeches will be transmitted via livestream to the press room. Several doorstep and press statements are also foreseen in the programme.

To participate as a media representative, accreditation is mandatory. Please use the attached feedback form and send it to anna.aresu(at)ep.europa.eu. The deadline for accreditation ends on Friday 1 June at noon.
