Modernisation of the EU’s Trade Defence Instruments. MEPs will vote on adeal struck with ministers in December foreseeing tougher defence tools against unfair imports. Key features of the agreement: possibly higher tariffs, shorter and more transparent investigations, a helpdesk for SMEs, trade unions’ involvement, social and environmental dumping to be taken into account. Finalisation of the EU-Japan trade agreement. Members of the committee will hear from Trade Commissioner Cecilia Malmström about the Economic Partnership Agreement concluded last December. INTA welcomed the deal and will scrutinize it. The agreement needs the Parliament’s final approval.
